Thiocodin 100ml syrup Bottle is a combination of two medicines: Codeine and Triprolidine, which relieves dry cough. Codeine is a cough suppressant. It suppresses cough by reducing the activity of cough centre in the brain. Triprolidine is an antiallergic.

Composition

The active substances of the drug are codeine phosphate hemihydrate (Codeini phosphas hemihydricus) and sulfoguaiacol (Sulfogaiacolum).

10 ml of syrup contains 15 mg of codeine phosphate hemihydrate and 300 mg of sulfoguaiacol.

Excipients: sucrose, glycerol, sodium benzoate, strawberry flavor 502301T, citric acid monohydrate, propyl parahydroxybenzoate, purified water.

Thiocodin contains two active substances : codeine phosphate hemihydrate and sulfoquaiacol.

• Codeine phosphate hemihydrate has an antitussive effect, inhibits the cough reflex, reducing the frequency of coughing attacks.
• Sulfogwaacol acts as an expectorant , facilitates the movement of the liquefied secretion in the respiratory tract and its expectoration.

Thiocodin is intended for people over 12 years of age. It is indicated for attacks of dry cough and cough that changes from dry to wet.

Contraindications for use include: hypersensitivity to the drug components, asthma or bronchial insufficiency, cystic fibrosis, simultaneous use of other expectorants, as well as pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Uncommon side effects :

• allergic reactions (itching, hives, rash, skin eczema),
• sudden mood changes (excessive joy or sadness),
• breathing disorders, bronchospasm,
• heart palpitations, drop in blood pressure and fainting,
• drowsiness, headaches,
• miosis, urinary retention,
• decreased appetite, vision and hearing disorders,
• excessive sweating,
• hallucinations (perception of non-existent objects),
• acute abdominal pain (mainly applies to patients after gallbladder removal), irritation of the gastrointestinal mucosa, the symptoms of which may include, among others: stomach pain (after taking large doses of the drug).
